These vintage Matl sterling silver earrings were handcrafted in Mexico during the Salas-period of the mid-1970s to early 1980s. Each earring features a richly colored pyramid-cut amethyst framed by natural turquoise cabochons, set within the ornate scrollwork that defines the Matl design tradition. Three articulated turquoise-set drops add movement and dimension.

The earrings are hand engraved matl, Mexico 925, and M. Regis 142073, a registration format used for Mexican silver export standards in the 1970s. The additional MS-12 hallmark identifies the specific artisan within the Salas-run Matl workshop who fabricated the pair.

A bold and beautifully constructed example of later Matl craftsmanship, perfect for collectors of Mexican silver and lovers of statement earrings.
