Our story actually began with... books!
Rebecca, owner of Moontide Vintage, fell in love with fashion at a young age. Her mother blazed a career in the fashion industry in knitwear, bridal and as a pattern-making teacher. As a child, Rebecca read her mother's fashion history textbooks as if they were bedtime stories, enchanted by the photos of noted fashion masterpieces, designer sketches and glamorous ladies who seemed to have stepped out of a fairytale.
That feeling of childhood wonder is the inspiration for Moontide Vintage. Today, Rebecca loves to hunt for, discover and research quality true vintage clothing and jewelry. Oh, the construction! The beautiful tailoring! The flattering fits! The intricate details and hand work! The unique histories! Sigh. We hope you feel that wonder, joy and appreciation whenever you wear a Moontide Vintage piece.
Not only is vintage clothing generally better quality than what is made today, a vintage choice is also a sustainable choice. Vintage fashion doesn't require new resources or energy to produce. Unlike fast fashion, you'll get lots of years of use from our timeless, elegant pieces. Wearing vintage means you're helping to create a more circular approach to fashion, versus buying and discarding whatever is trending at the moment.
Our goal is that you feel amazing wearing Moontide Vintage, both from wearing the most unique piece in the room and from knowing that you made a purchase that helps the environment.
