Bonnie Cashin is considered to be one of the most innovative American women's sportswear designers of all time. Her designs were incredible innovative in her time, and today appear completely modern, a true mark of how influential her work was to the fashion world. This piece is a classic Bonnie Cashin look - a button-down mohair dress. The dress is from her best known period as head designer at Sills and Company from 1953-1977. During this time period she also became the first designer for Coach leather. This sleeveless dress features a full button front with cream colored trim. Fully lined. The wool mohair is a mix of cream and tan with hints of black. The dress would be perfect layered (she invented the concept of layering after all) over a classic button-down shirt or turtleneck.
