Introducing a rare vintage find, a pair of new old stock vintage 1930s Whiting and Davis metal mesh gauntlet bracelets! This beautiful set features Whiting & Davis' expertly crafted gold tone "beadlite" metal mesh, in which the individual metal links have a raised domed shape, giving each piece texture and movement. When laid flat, each bracelet is in the form of a triangle shape, with snap closures at each end of the longest side. When worn the mesh drapes over the back of the hand, forming a pointed tip. The snaps are stamped Rau Fastener Co., Whiting & Davis' snap supplier that was established in Rhode Island in 1912. One of the bracelets still has its original Whiting & Davis shield-shaped blue paper tag. On one side of the tag NRA Code Reg. 20-28 is printed, representing the National Recovery Agency established in June, 1933 by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Shortly thereafter in May, 1935 the NRA was struck down by the US Supreme Court. As a result this set can be dated to circa 1934.

For context on how unusual these are - Moontide Vintage is located in the epicenter of antique metal mesh (Mandalian and Whiting & Davis were both manufactured within 2 miles) and I have an extensive collection of antique pieces. This set is the first time I have come across Whiting & Davis gauntlet bracelets.

Each bracelet measures 8" x 6" x 6". Fits wrists up to 6" in circumference. Excellent condition.
