1940s Ivory Bridal Hairpiece / Vintage Juliet Hat with Netting Birdcage Veil

Lovely vintage 1940's ivory silk velvet calot hat with netting veil. The velvet twists into a croissant roll along the circumference and meets in the back with a pretty structured bow. The hat is fully lined - very unusual - in a metallic jacquard fabric. The tag reads H.P. Wasson & Co, Indianapolis, which was a department store founded in 1894 (defunct as of 1980). This hat was likely a bridal accessory originally and would make a gorgeous and unique addition to a modern wedding ceremony or reception dress... not to mention a smart suit, cocktail or evening dress.

Good vintage condition in keeping with its age. No stains or holes. There are breaks in the netting and some crushed spots from storage but nothing that detracts from the wearability. The velvet still has a high sheen. The hat should be handled carefully as the netting is very delicate.
